Tips for growing fresh veggies:

  1.  Grow what you love to eat – plant those veggies, whatever you and your family love to eat.
  2. Choose wisely – choose those vegetables which are more likely to be used in your daily routine and are expensive in the market. Through this, you can save a great amount.
  3. Choose veggies that easily grow. Choose those veggies that take small space and can grow fast so, in my opinion; leafy vegetables can grow faster so you can use them any time.
  4. Grow something different. Grow something different in your yard that is not easily available in the market, like red and yellow bell pepper and broccoli-type veggies.
  5. Use high-quality seeds.  Use those seeds in your yard that are less expensive but high in quality because those seeds that do not germinate may waste your time and money. In addition, a few extra amounts spent in spring for that year’s seeds will pay off in higher yields at harvest time.

Choose the right place for harvesting:

Selecting the right location is the most important point for harvesting. The right place will grow the right veggie!. Here are a few points for choosing a good site:

  1.  Choose a sunny area: select those places where sunlight can easily reach because many vegetables require 6 to 8 hours of sunlight every day. Only a few veggies, mostly leafy, can grow in shades; otherwise, all vegetables need an appropriate amount of sunlight.
  2.  Choose less wet area: If you have poor drainage, your harvesting side always becomes wet, which leads to wet roots, which can turn into rotten roots. These areas are usually water pool sides; if you have a rocky place, till and remove the rocks, as they will interfere with root growth and make for weaker plants.
  3.   Stable and not windy: Avoid those places that receive strong winds because it gives a tough time for younger plants to grow and keep knocking for pollination. Moreover, do you want to harvest in a location that receives too much foot traffic or floods easily?
  4. Nutrient-rich soil. Your soil is the most important factor for growing vegetables and feeds your plant. If you have nutrient-poor soil, you will ultimately get unhealthy plants, so choose healthy and rich nutritious soil.
